Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Mawj ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

Description of Service

Mawj is a private AI workspace that processes user content locally on your device. The App provides features including:

  • Local AI chat conversations
  • Document intelligence and local retrieval
  • Image prompts with local vision models when available
  • Local microphone transcription with WhisperKit
  • Local model management
  • User-initiated model downloads

User-Initiated Network Access

Mawj does not use a cloud AI backend. Network access is limited to actions you start:

  • When you choose to download a model, Mawj contacts Hugging Face for public model metadata and model files. Your prompts, documents, images, audio, transcripts, and workspace content are not included in those requests.
  • When you share a web link with Mawj, the app may fetch that link to save readable content locally in your workspace.
  • Mawj does not send user content to OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Hugging Face Inference API, or any other third-party AI service for processing.

User Conduct

You agree not to use the App to:

  • Engage in any illegal or unauthorized activity
  • Use imported files, links, prompts, or generated output for harmful, offensive, or inappropriate activity
  • Interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data

Intellectual Property

The App and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by the developers of Mawj and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Our Privacy Policy explains how Mawj handles information. Mawj does not collect personal data, does not track you, and does not send your content to a third-party AI service for processing.

Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not guarantee that:

  • The App will meet your requirements
  • The App will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • Any errors in the App will be corrected

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the developers of Mawj from any claims, damages, losses, costs, and expenses arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including breach of these Terms.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
