At Mawj ("we," "us," or "our"), we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our AI chat application ("the App").

Information We Do Not Collect

Important: Mawj is designed with privacy as a core principle. We do not collect personal information, track you, or send your conversations, documents, images, microphone recordings, or transcripts to any cloud AI service.

Specifically, we do not collect:

  • Personal identifiers (name, email, phone number)
  • Device identifiers or advertising identifiers
  • Location data
  • Off-device usage analytics or crash reports
  • Chat conversations or message content
  • Imported documents, images, audio recordings, or transcripts
  • Any other personal or behavioral data

How the App Works

Mawj processes all data locally on your device:

  • AI Processing: Conversations, documents, images, microphone recordings, transcripts, and AI model interactions occur on your device
  • Data Storage: Conversations, messages, and models are stored locally using SwiftData
  • Document Intelligence: Imported files are parsed, chunked, and stored locally for private retrieval
  • Voice Transcription: Microphone recordings are transcribed locally with WhisperKit when you choose to use voice input
  • Local Diagnostics: Mawj may keep local-only counters or preferences on your device. These values are not transmitted to Mawj servers.

Third-Party Services

Mawj uses limited user-initiated network and system integrations:

  • Hugging Face: Public model metadata and model file downloads that you initiate
  • Websites You Share: A web link may be fetched only when you choose to import that link into your local workspace
  • Notifications: iOS Local Notifications system
  • Background Tasks: iOS Background Tasks framework for model downloads and share-extension queue processing

Mawj does not send prompts, conversations, documents, images, microphone recordings, transcripts, or workspace content to Hugging Face, OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or any other third-party AI service for processing.

Data Storage and Security

All data processed by Mawj remains on your device:

  • Conversations are stored in SwiftData containers on your device
  • Downloaded AI models are stored locally
  • User content is not transmitted to external servers for AI processing
  • Your data is protected by your device's built-in security measures

Children's Privacy

Mawj is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
